Prep Time is a brand new Instagram virtual event hosted by Teacher 5 Étoiles. Starting this April, our star teachers and Squad members will host these unique events where several inspiring guests will joyfully take part in the discussion.
The first #teacher5etoiles Prep Time will be hosted by Olivier Fortin on April 28 at 7 p.m. (EDT) board game focus! Olivier is an enthusiastic board game and role-player aficionado. In his classroom, there are entire walls of board games that he uses on a daily basis as part of his French immersion teaching in Yellowknife.
Olivier’s passion is “strategically” contagious. And he carefully keeps his guests secret. To find out who they are, join us on April 28th at 7 p.m. (EDT) on Instagram.
After Isabelle and Marc-Albert, here is April’s immersion story. This active teacher of a grade 4 and 5 French immersion class carries a whole lot of experiences.
Born in Vancouver in an English-speaking family and now living in Ottawa with her young family, she tells us about her passion for: French immersion teaching, languages and… skating on the Rideau Canal. In her video vignette, she looks back on the spark ignition of her wonderful French Immersion journey. It’s a truly refreshing listening experience that makes us want to become multilingual and play outside!

Good news! Our star pedagogical consultant, Sarah Fedoration, is one of four panelists invited to participate in the French roundtable on Reliable Assessment Practices for Distance Learning on March 4th.
This roundtable is part of the My Virtual Classroom member webinar series initiated by the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT).
Congratulations Sarah! The Teacher 5 étoiles community is proud of you!

The Teacher 5 étoiles team had a lot of fun animating interactive workshops as part of the French for the Future Atlantic Forums. We were able to guide participating students through activities that helped them learn the rules of songwriting. All this, with the collaboration of Mélanie Latreille, a member of the Escouade, our star Hannah Reid, the Radio Radio duo and the Paroles d’immersion contest.
These workshops were such a success that we wanted to invite you, dear French immersion teacher, to do the same with your students.
You can also ask us to do it for you (which we would really like!). Our proposal tempts you? Send us your request by email.
The Teacher 5 étoiles team has tons of ideas! The proof? We suddenly felt like immersing students in the thrilling adventure of a typical day in the life of a French immersion teacher.
So we asked a youtube high school teacher to help us illustrate a day in her sparkling life… And we laughed a lot when we created a crazy video clip with her!
Check out this video now that will inspire you and make you smile!
