After a series of Job Dating activities organized during the Teacher 5 etoiles Great Tour last fall, the jobimmersion.ca team is back in force in the Vancouver area at the end of the month!

On April 28, 2022 in Vancouver, graduates and recent graduates of a qualifying French immersion program are invited to participate in a professional Job Dating activity.

The event consists of short meetings (approximately 10 minutes) with a person responsible for hiring French Immersion teachers in local school boards. In addition, the team will be on hand to discuss with you the educational and professional resources (such as the Reach for the stars Career Launch program) available to you to help you grow your career! You’ll even have a chance to win the Future French Immersion Teacher Survival Kit (a $250 value!)!

The Canadian Association of French Immersion Professionals (CAIP) and its Teacher 5 Etoiles campaign are proud to promote French immersion careers beyond the country’s borders!

On February 25th and 26th, CAIP actively participated in Destination Canada Education, an online job fair for the education sector host by the Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité (RDÉE Canada) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This event was aimed at international francophone and bilingual candidates with university training and experience in early childhood, primary or secondary education and teaching French as a second language who are seeking employment opportunities in Canada (outside of Quebec).

Among other things, the event promoted Teacher 5 Etoiles resources, such as the interactive map of Canada and the page dedicated to international candidate

In order to meet its objective of promoting careers in French immersion, Teacher 5 étoiles team wanted to offer a map of Canada that would quickly bring together all the places to study to become a French immersion teacher.

This interactive map was recently enhanced and now provides a portrait of each province and territory by answering the following questions:

Where can I study to become a French immersion teacher?
Are there bursaries available?

After a road tour of Western Canada in the fall of 2021, our team will be visiting (virtually) several Canadian universities this winter!

We would like to share with education students the multitude of professional resources available to them to propel their careers in French immersion! These include the L’Observatoire orientation program, the Reach for the stars career launch program and the 100% French immersion job search portal jobimmersion.ca.

Several types of virtual events

The tour will consist of two types of activities. First, we will participate in education career fairs at selected universities offering French immersion programs. On the other hand, we will organize information sessions on French immersion careers.

L’OBSERVATOIRE is an initiation, observation and exploration of teaching in French immersion that will take place from May 2nd to May 13rd, 2022. Students will have the opportunity to experience first hand the realities of working with students and an associate teacher in a real French immersion classroom.
